This kitchen remodel and expansion was a big project that involved tearing down a bearing wall and installing a glue lam beam to open up the kitchen to the living room and dining room.
The glue lam beam replaced a bearing wall to carry the load of the roof. We installed new cabinetry with granite countertops, adding an attractive ceramic backsplash which makes for a more modern look that still blends in well with this 50 year old home.
In the background you can also see a hallway that used to lead to the three bedrooms. With the new open floorplan we were able to create a walk-in pantry with an attractive door with a smoked glass insert.
We built an island for the stove with cabinets either side and a nice stainless steel range hood above it. We installed all new upper and lower kitchen cabinets with stainless steel accents to complement the new look that included a stainless steel refrigerator.
The floor was also redone with porcelain faux wood tiles in a pickeled grey finish that further complements the look of this newly expanded and remodeled kitchen. The owners could not have been happier!
